Blocking the TikTok Windows App

Preface

TikTok has a Windows application available to install from the Microsoft Store (https://apps.microsoft.com/store/detail/tiktok/9NH2GPH4JZS4). Airlock Digital is able to block this application from executing by making use of Blocklist Metadata rules.


These rules will be available in a package attached to this article. You will then be able to import this into your Airlock instance. If you do not know how to import Blocklist packages, please refer to the Blocklist import section of Exporting Policy.


Details

The attached Blocklist package makes use of Command Line Blocklisting which is a feature added in the 5.1 branch of the Airlock server.


The rule is constructed as follows:


Once implemented an enabled within your Policy, the MS store TikTok application should now be blocked everytime it is attempted to execute.
